Contagious Excitement, Catch It if You Want To.

Ever meet someone who has enough enthusiasm for a small village?  Have you ever wanted to have a little bit of their energy and enthusiasm?  You can have success, and success can come quickly when you have someone successful to model. NLP Modeling is about learning anything you desire to learn that you believe someone else can do and wish to have similar competency in. By using NLP Modeling, you can learn how they do what they do and be able to have a similar performance as that person, minus the differences in your own physiological makeup.

NLP Modeling is accelerated learning. NLP Modeling is the ability to fully replicate a desirable skill or behavior that another person has into two discrete parts

A. The full unconscious set of behaviors that perform the skill

B. The coding of such behaviors into a teachable / learnable format

Modeling is at the heart of NLP, without it NLP would not exist.

For decades psychologists, anthropologists and others from Science have tried to adequately describe the interactions between individuals and the way we think. NLP used a different tactic, rather than describe through theory, John Grinder and Richard Bandler systematically created workable models through application of careful study and demonstrable results of extraordinarily successful professionals.

NLP can help you to learn and act in the manner of a successful professional.  NLP for Certified Hypnotists can give you cutting edge  tools that can increase your successful outcomes and make your practice soar.

NLP Turns Procrastination Into Jubilation!

National Procrastination Week is winding down in the USA, and I just cannot put this blog post off any longer!  Okay, all kidding aside procrastination is a problem for many people and the “infomation age isn’t helping anyone to overcome this problem.  It is really easy for us all to get caught up in checking email and tweeting about what you had for lunch as time marches on and work deadlines get passed by.

We often put off tasks that are perceived as unpleasant, boring, difficult, you name it. A longtime procrastinator has a multitude of excuses at the ready for not getting tasks done.  There is no research that points to gender or intelligence as being a factor in this issue.  What the research does show is that it is a growing problem, and some experts believe that if those intrusive little notification tones ceased to exist, productivity and the economy would once again soar.

Prioritizing differently or limiting the time one spends on social media and email could be a solution for this type of procrastination.  People could also change "shoulds” into wants. This also applies to “have to” “ought to” and “musts”.  When we feel obligated to others we could feel inhibited, just by changing these types of statements to “wants” then we take responsibility for doing the task.

So this may sound like good advice, but how does a person make that shift to want to wash the dishes or write the company’s white paper?  If we use some NeuroLinguistic Programming that shift can happen easily.  Specifically, use Richard Bandler’s Godiva Chocolate Pattern.  In just a few minutes you can be washing or writing.  Whatever needs to be done can be precieved as fun or rewarding in some way.

This is just one example of how NLP is put into practice to make life better. To learn more about NLP and training opportunities on Long Island visit our site.  To work on issues and for personal and professional growth with Cynthia visit Advanced Hypnotherapy in Port Jefferson NY.  We can work on changing uncomfortable patterns of behavior like procrastination. Fortunately, the procrastination habit is very conducive to change.  Just don’t put it off.

So, What is NLP?

Briefly, NLP stands for NeuroLinguistic Programming, a name that includes the three most influential systems involved in producing human experience and excellence: Neurology, language and programming. Our neurological system regulates how our bodies function, language determines how we communicate with others and our programming determines the kinds of models of the world we create. NeuroLinguistic Programming describes the fundamental dynamics between mind (neuro) and language (linguistic) and how their interaction effects our body and behavior.

NLP was originated by John Grinder (whose background was in linguistics) and Richard Bandler (whose background was in mathematics and gestalt therapy) for the purpose of making explicit models of human excellence. Their first work The Structure of Magic Vol. I & II (1975, 1976) identified the verbal and behavioral patterns of therapists Fritz Perls (the creator of gestalt therapy) and Virginia Satir (internationally renowned family therapist). Their next work Patterns of the Hypnotic Techniques of Milton H. Erickson, M.D. Vol. I & II (1975, 1976) examined the patterns of Dr. Milton Erickson, founder of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and one of the most renown and clinically successful psychiatrists of our times.

NLP provides tools and skills for the development of states of individual excellence, but it also establishes a system of empowering beliefs about what human beings are, what communication is and what the process of change is all about.

NLP has evolved considerably since its beginnings in the mid 1970s. Over the years, NLP has literally spread around the world and has touched the lives of millions of people.  The people who are most effective are the ones who have a map of the world that allows them to perceive the greatest number of available choices and perspectives. NLP is a way of enriching the choices that you have and perceive as available in the world around you.
